1. Size Matters
If you share a bed with your partner and cannot sleep well, it's probably because of the other person's movements during the night. Studies show that people, particularly women, who share their beds spend more time in the lighter stages of sleep than when they sleep alone. When one partner moves, the other person typically follows within 20 seconds. Also, women with partners heavier than them are more likely to wake up during the night.
To enable you to sleep soundly, ensure that your mattress is 10-15 cm. longer than the tallest partner and that at least 50 cm. is available for pillows.
2. Conduct a “Rest Test”
Mattress comfort is a matter of personal preference. You should try as many different ones as you can before you make your purchase. To guarantee the right choice you need to lie on the bed with your sleeping partner, without your outdoor clothing nor shoes, in normal sleeping position for at least 10 minutes. Do not test more than three mattresses at a time – it is too confusing.
